School's Out For Summer

When will the time come that my kids will stop wearing what I sew? Probably too soon, so this summer I hope to create lots of goodies for London. Here's a basic pinafore (that's reversible!) that will last her into the Fall.

Cottage Industry Co-op

One Lucky Baby was lucky enough to be offered a co-op partnership with Cottage Industry in Orlando. I will be sharing a store front with 20 or so local artists and crafters. I'm thrilled about the opportunity and have been crafting and sewing in the wee hours of the morning. Here are some soft baby shoes I plan on adding to my piece of the shop.

Elephant Titus

A few shots of Titus. Created out of mocha and hollywood fabric, and a bit of white minky for his ears. Feet are made out of some scrap felt. A first attempt, but I think with better quality thicker felt, I'll get the pads of the feet right:)

Mother's Day

Mother's day was fantastic! London started my day off with a lovely tea party. Decaf, lots of sugar. We talked about reading, dancing and how we might invite the guys next time.

I tried not to sew, but couldn't help myself and finished Vegas's stuffed elephant. I'd take a picture and post it, but I couldn't get it out of his hands before naptime.

Tattoo Baby Shoes

OK. I'm hooked. I love these shoes! They took me forever to make, but my first attempt with anything takes really long. I added thick interfacing and soft dotted minky for warmth.

This tattoo fabric is one of my favorites and I've made tons of things out it including aprons, pillows, dresses, holiday stockings and potholders. Though bleeding hearts and skulls aren't your normal baby wear, there's a certain charm about it.

I think I'll make some lighter weight shoes for expecting friends and family and see how they turn out. But first, I promised my son a new stuffed animal....maybe a tattooed elephant?

One Lucky Baby

One Lucky Baby is a baby accessories company located in Orlando, Florida that is devoted to creating high-quality, handmade baby products with stylish, colorful prints and soft plush fabrics. Created out of the desire for fun yet sophisticated items, One Lucky Baby strives to create items with style in mind for both baby and parent.

I started the company in 2004, shortly after the birth of my second child. With the difficulty of finding smart, modern accessories for her baby and toddler, I took out my sewing machine, collection of fabrics and started to create. Modern, Asian and kitschy influences helped to create hip designs with baby soft textures.

One Lucky Baby offers essential products such as bibs, burp cloths, and blankets as well as holiday items. Fun, colorful prints and soft plush fabrics make One Lucky Baby products cozy and stylish, and each item is handcrafted for durability and years of love.
